Playing in the first ever PGA Tour event

Welcome to my journey as I play in my first-ever PGA Tour event! This is a dream come true for me, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship has given me the chance to compete against some of the best players in the world, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Accompanied by caddy Meo Smith

I am lucky to have Meo Smith as my caddy for this tournament. Meo has played this event twice before, so he brings a wealth of experience to the team. I know that he will be a valuable asset as we navigate the course and make important decisions throughout the week. Welcome to the team, Meo!

Feeling good and confident

As I step onto the PGA Tour stage, I am feeling good about my game and confident in my abilities. I have put in the hard work and preparation leading up to this moment, and I am ready to showcase my skills. This tournament is a culmination of months of training, and I am eager to see how I stack up against the competition.

The key for the week

For me, the key to success this week is maintaining my confidence, having fun, and enjoying the experience. This is a unique opportunity, and I want to make the most of it. While I have high expectations for myself, I am also focused on the bigger picture and the joy that comes with playing the sport I love at such a high level.

Teaming up with Future Fuels Power Innovations

I am thrilled to be teaming up with Future Fuels Power Innovations for this tournament. As an electric vehicle driver myself, I am excited about the company’s mission to provide accessible charging stations. This partnership allows me to align with a cause I am passionate about and make a positive impact beyond the golf course.

Excitement about accessible charging stations

As an electric vehicle driver, it can sometimes be challenging to find convenient charging stations. With Future Fuels Power Innovations, I am excited about their commitment to making charging stations more accessible. It’s a step in the right direction for sustainability and the future of transportation.

Shirts inspired by Future Fuels

To show my support for Future Fuels Power Innovations, I will be wearing shirts inspired by their mission. These shirts will not only reflect my personal values but also help raise awareness for accessible charging stations. It’s a small way for me to contribute to a cause I believe in.

Competing against Wesley in a 1v1 match

In addition to the tournament itself, I am also looking forward to a friendly 1v1 match against my friend Wesley. We both have a shared passion for golf and have been on this journey together. It’s exciting to be able to compete against him on a PGA Tour course and see who comes out on top.

High expectations from older brother

My older brother has always been my biggest supporter and has high expectations for me in this tournament. He believes in my skills and thinks I can perform well. Having that kind of support and belief from someone I look up to means the world to me and motivates me to give it my all.

George’s focus for a successful tournament

For my brother George, his focus for a successful tournament is all about keeping the ball in the fairway and making putts. He knows that these two aspects of the game will be crucial in navigating the challenging course and posting competitive scores. I am excited to see him excel in this tournament and cheer him on every step of the way.

Practice Rounds and Pro-Am Tournament

Playing practice round with George

One of the highlights leading up to the tournament was playing a practice round with my brother George. It was a chance for us to support each other and fine-tune our games before the main event. We shared valuable insights and strategies, and it was a great bonding experience for both of us.

Dialing in the greens’ speed

During the practice round, I focused on dialing in the speed of the greens. Putting is a crucial part of the game, and having a good feel for the greens can make all the difference. By carefully studying the contours and practicing my stroke, I aimed to gain an advantage on the putting surfaces.

Performing well in the pro-am tournament

Before the official tournament rounds began, I had the opportunity to play in the pro-am tournament. It was a chance to showcase my skills in a more relaxed setting and interact with the amateurs who were supporting the event. I was happy with my performance and felt it was a positive start to the week.

Hopes to make more birdies

Throughout the pro-am tournament, my goal was to make as many birdies as possible. Birdies are the key to scoring well and gaining momentum. I was pleased with the birdies I made during the pro-am, but I knew there was still room for improvement. My focus going into the official tournament rounds was to continue making birdies and capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Currently 4 under par

After the practice rounds and pro-am tournament, I found myself at 4 under par. It was a solid start, but I knew that the real challenge lay ahead in the official tournament rounds. I was proud of my performance thus far, but I also knew that I needed to maintain my focus and continue playing well in order to stay competitive.

Desire to make more birdies and improve green speed

As I prepared for the official tournament rounds, my desire was to make even more birdies and improve my speed on the greens. I knew that birdies were crucial for climbing the leaderboard, and I wanted to give myself as many opportunities as possible. Additionally, improving my green speed would ensure that I could read the putts accurately and make more confident strokes.

Finishing practice round with three birdies

I was thrilled to finish my practice round with three birdies. It was a confidence booster and showed me that my game was in a good place leading into the tournament. It was a positive sign, and I carried that momentum into the official tournament rounds.

Mental State and Goals

Officially becoming a PGA Tour player

Being a part of the PGA Tour and officially becoming a player in this event was a surreal experience. It’s something I’ve dreamt about for years, and to see it become a reality was truly special. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and ready to give it my all on the course.

Feeling prepared and mentally in a good place

Leading up to the tournament, I made sure to put in the necessary work to feel prepared both physically and mentally. I practiced my game diligently and worked on my mindset to stay positive and focused. As the tournament approached, I knew that I was in a good place mentally, and that gave me confidence moving forward.

Nervous but more excited about the tournament

Nerves were definitely present leading up to the tournament, but I chose to embrace them and use them as fuel. It’s natural to feel a bit nervous when competing at this level, but I was more excited than anything. The opportunity to showcase my skills and compete against top-notch players was something I looked forward to with great anticipation.

Goal for the week

My goal for the week was simple: have fun and learn from the experience. While I had high ambitions for my performance, I recognized that this tournament was also about enjoying the journey and growing as a player. By keeping this goal in mind, I was able to approach each round with a positive mindset and a sense of gratitude.

Confidence in putting, chipping, and irons

I felt confident in several aspects of my game leading into the tournament. My putting was particularly strong, and I rated it 8-9 out of 10. Chipping was another area where I excelled, rating it a solid 10 out of 10. Additionally, my irons had been performing well, and I rated them a 7-8 out of 10. With these strengths in mind, I entered the tournament with a sense of optimism.

Positive mindset and no pressure

To perform at my best, I made sure to maintain a positive mindset and not put too much pressure on myself. I knew that the outcomes on the course were not entirely within my control. Instead, I focused on giving my best effort, enjoying the process, and learning from the challenges that arose. This approach allowed me to play more freely and stay in the present moment.

Assessing game and physical condition

In addition to my mental state, I also assessed both my game and physical condition leading up to the tournament. I was pleased with my game and felt that I had addressed any weaknesses during practice rounds. However, I did recognize some physical discomfort, such as swollen knees and back pain. Despite these minor setbacks, I was determined to give my best effort and not let them hinder my performance.

Appreciation for support received

Before the tournament began, I wanted to express my gratitude to all those who supported me on this journey. The support of my viewers, fans, and sponsors has been invaluable, and I am thankful for each and every one of them. Their encouragement and belief in me have fueled my drive to succeed, and I am excited to represent them on the PGA Tour stage.
